Phase analysis in ceramic materials is vital for assessing material quality and predicting material properties such as mechanical, thermal, and corrosion properties. Understanding phase behavior at high temperatures is critical for optimizing the performance of these materials.
 
Challenges
Automating phase analysis in ceramics is challenging due to the complex and often inhomogeneous phase compositions, which require high-resolution imaging for accurate differentiation. The variability in phase distribution, coupled with the effects of sintering and heat treatment on phase composition, adds to the complexity of the analysis. Variations in chemical composition further complicate the identification and quantification of different phases. Additionally, the quality of sample preparation and the development of sophisticated algorithms are crucial for reliable phase analysis in ceramics.

Once detected, phases can be automatically measured using classic area fraction and area measurements or following a custom definition. To ensure data privacy and security, the software runs locally on your workstation, without the need for an internet connection.
